Birchbox: a review

If youre like me you enjoy a simple beauty regimine: concealer, mascara, maybe some chapstick if youre feeling fancy. Minimalistic, natural, easy. And why not? Its so easy to just get up in the morning and not have a complicated get-out-of-the-door procedure. But if youre also like me, you probably feel stuck in your routine sometimes. I have a solution that is both fun and cost-friendly for you: Birchbox.

I love my Birchbox. Its like Christmas in the mail once a month. You open this little box that is wrapped with tissue paper and always has fun prints and you get a little excited as you start to see whats inside. Everything is in small sample sizes which is perfect for us non-commital people, and you get a wide variety of things that are personalized for you. Last month I got the best facial moisturizer because I told them I have sensitive skin, and this month I got a fun blue eyeliner because they know my eyes are blue (and blue eyeliner is the easiet way to jazz up your makeup routine for summer!). I never know what Im going to get, but that’s half the fun! And let me tell you, 5 months in and I haven’t gotten a single sample I didn’t like. The other awesome part? Its $10 a month. That’s it. For $10 you get products that last you a while if you salvage them the way I do.

And then theres the reviewing process. Heres an awesome thing. Birchbox does this genious idea where they let you review the products in your box each month and receive points in exchange. Each review is 10 points, and 100 points is $10 in the Birchbox store. You get 5 samples in each box so essentially if you do a review for every sample you have $10 every two months to spend as you please, or save up (that’s what im doing!). If you think about it you make $60 on your Birchbox every year. That’s pretty cool.

In short, Birchbox is so cool and cheap that everyone should do it. You probably spend more money on your Starbucks lattes in a month than you would on your Birchbox, so you really have nothing to lose. Also another cool thing I forgot to mention is that if you don’t want to receive a box one month all you do is sign on to your account the first day of the month and tell them so. Theres a setting that allows you to skip a month if you want (although why would you?!). That’s pretty nice.

Free makeup samples and plenty of ways to freshen up your makeup (and hair!) looks. FREE MAKEUP PEOPLE. FREE. MAKEUP. If you haven’t gone to their webpage since reading this yet then go right now! Nothing to lose and plenty to gain people!!
